The South Carolina Department of Transportation retains our services for low altitude helicopter mapping for highway design, engineering, or resurfacing on sections of highways where ground surveys are difficult and problematic.

IMC obtains black and white aerial photography at 1’=50’ scale using a helicopter for all Intestate pavement surfaces, medians, and ramps along the identified corridor. Panels are set up in pairs within the shoulders on both sides of the Interstate at intervals not to exceed 360’. It is advised that all control be observed using Digital Levels method and tied to State Plane Coordinate System.

IMC collects profiles at the edge of pavement, crowns, and travel ways defined by SCDOT using Digital Terrain Model (DTM) methods and are vertically accurate to within 0.05” on all paved surfaces from the Low Altitude Helicopter Aerial.
