An Orthophoto is an image in which the
distortions caused by the tip, tilt and swing of the camera
has been removed. Every feature in the original image now has a geographical space
or position with a known coordinate.
Provided that the GIS and
vector data are on the same datum, the user can simply overlay
the image on top of the data, analyze
and make measurements.
The DTM or DEM is usually collected
on our VrTwo Softcopy stations and Analytical Stereo Plotters.
IMC
has provided Orthophotos for several counties and engineering
projects. We utilize VrOrtho software for rectification
of these images and Ortho Vista for mosaicing. |
